Yawn - another early flight ! Departing from Ayr we flew round Townsville and north to Hinchinbrooke Island. Jim spent a week on Hinchinbrooke 5 years ago & has bored Ingrid with how stunning it is ever since. Not possible to visit by boat however until easter as weather generally too bad. We landed at Tully, which claims to be the wettest place in Australia. We’re obviously being lucky at the moment as the weather has been good for the last few days. We intend taking a day off tomorrow, John might be persuaded to jump out of a perfectly good aeroplane and Jim and Ingrid are tempted to have a go at white water rafting. We are staying in mission Beach, if we’d had any sense we would have landed on the beach and parked outside!!!! Intend to fly on to Cairns on Monday.
John,Ingrid and Jim.

Mission Beach has some great restaurants and Cassowaries are definitely not on the menu.
The weather is still looking good for your top end flights, enjoy while you can……… You are reaching the end of civilisation.
All the best, safe flying - Derek

Apparently Tully is the rainiest place in Aus but happily its the driest here for 13 years. Hope it stops that way round the top ! Can’t imagine managing a whole cassowary drumstick anyhow ;-) John
