Another early start yesterday and by recent standards a fairly long leg to Emu Park (150 miles and no emus). A very pleasant flight in nearly perfect flying conditions, apart from some of the terrain. We are starting to come across large areas of mangroves (best seen from the air!), having been relatively spoilt with endless superb beaches recently. Meanwhile Keith was becoming aquainted with Taipans at a snake farm in the Townsville area. Today we again had an early start to avoid the stronger winds forecast. In the air by 6.10am, we flew from Emu Park to Mackay, a leg of some 180 miles. Assisted by a strong tail wind this took 2 hours 40 minutes. Mackay is a friendly but busy airport, with a Quantas flight slotting in between the two trikes on finals. Wind very strong on landing, definatley it for the day! More soon, Jim, John and Ingrid
